About Andres Ramirez
Andres Ramirez has over 25 years of experience resolving complex and emotionally charged disputes nationwide. As a seasoned mediator and former civil rights investigator with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), Andres mediated over 1,000 discrimination cases including, Title II of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title IX, Age discrimination, sexual violence, racially hostile environment, Title VI Shared Ancestry, and antisemitism. He also successfully resolved a wide range of employment claims, including contract disputes, workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination disputes. His work helped parties reach lasting resolutions that shaped policies and practices still influencing workplaces and educational institutions today.
As OCR’s National Mediation Expert, Andres developed a nationwide alternative dispute resolution program to help parties navigate some of the most complex and sensitive legal disputes in education and employment. He was routinely called upon to mediate the agency’s most challenging and high-stakes cases across the country. In addition to resolving these critical matters, Andres trained a generation of mediators, earning a national reputation as a persistent, creative, and patient problem-solver.
Mediation goes beyond finding common ground. It is about overcoming seemingly insurmountable barriers, uncovering new solutions, and ensuring all voices are heard. Andres brings a steady, pragmatic approach, remaining calm under pressure while working toward resolution. Even when emotions run high and parties believe no path forward exists, Andres maintains optimism in the power of mediation. His patience, creativity, and strategic problem-solving have guided countless parties toward meaningful agreements by providing the structure, strategy, and perspective needed to move forward.
